I started my blog, Healthy Dash of Sass, as a creative outlet and form of therapy for myself and to connect with likeminded people but since I am multi passionate it’s really been reborn into a place that you can come as a cozy safe haven.
I would like to introduce our new series – our Author series as I have the biggest passion reading I thought it would be amazing to start featuring authors who create the stories that we all love. Lets get to it and get to know the author. This week we interviewed Alexis Buxton!
Welcome to our Author feature what is your first name?
Alexis
Please tell us a little bit about yourself
Hi, I’m Alexis, an avid reader turned author. A lover of all things love, I enjoy reading all varieties of romance novels—the steamier, the better. Writing has always been a passion of mine and with the encouragement of friends and family, I decided it was time to follow a childhood dream. I enjoy writing romance novels with damaged characters who need a little extra love and leave you feeling all the feels.
Born and raised in Ohio, I currently reside in a small, lake town in Ohio with my husband and two small kiddos. I’m a small-town girl, through and through. An avid sports fan, when I don’t have a book in my hand, you can find me watching sports. I pride myself on being a Cleveland Browns fan, even on the hardest days (or years). I also enjoy going on adventures with my family, visiting breweries, attending races at my local dirt track, and supporting local businesses.
I run on coffee, craft beers, and chaos, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
What is your favorite book that you have written about and why or a project you are working on?
This is a tough question! I really loved writing The Late Hit, especially since it was my debut novel. As a big football fan, I loved writing all the football games and tailgating scenes.
As I just wrapped up The Change Up, I have to say that I loved writing the entire book. This story has a chokehold on me and I am so excited for everyone to read it in April! Cody and Chloe are #couplegoals!
Which book would you like to feature?
The Late Hit Blurb:
Self-destruction is her middle name, hiding her traumatic past is her game.
Brynn Wilder is a carefree junior at Central Texas University where she’s living a life without consequences – partying and promiscuity. She returns to her hometown, after months away, while there her past trauma is exposed after years of keeping it buried. Her best friend, Quinton Boyd, is there to comfort her. But when he says yes to a crazy dare, their relationship is forced to change.
Quinton Boyd is an easy-going, focused, top-athlete on campus where his entire world revolves around his only love – football. He’s forced to constantly weigh his options on entering the NFL Draft early, which has always been his dream. But like with all dreams, they can easily change.
One night. One dare. One moment and life as they knew it changed. But are emotions too damaged for them to move forward?
The Late Hit is a dual POV emotional college football romance. This friends-to-lovers romance has steam, tension, and adult content.
Can you share a fun fact about yourself?
Since getting back into reading at the end of 2019, I’ve read over 650 books.
Who is your favorite character that you’ve written about?
Brynn Wilder. I really loved writing Brynn’s character. She’s wild and spunky, but has a darker history that has shaped who she is today.
